Nothing but You, Christ

When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. (1 Corinthians 2:1-5, NIV)

Lord, You are pointing Your finger at
every avenue of ministry You have given me.
Help me not to approach them with attempts at
human eloquence or
persuasion.
Such efforts demonstrate me, not You.
They are nothing but distractions.

For, Jesus, You are
the wisdom and
the power and
the salvation of God.
By Your Spirit, demonstrate yourself through me.
Show yourself.
Draw people to yourself alone, not to me.

When I come as Your servant,
let me come in weakness.
Let me come with nothing but You.
