Today in Your Care

Sovereign God,
You dwell in eternity,
unmoved by time.
Your promises,
Your purposes,
Your burning love are
always now,
always sure,
always undiminished.

Today
I am in Your tender care.
Here in You,
nothing is forgotten,
nothing ignored,
nothing overlooked,
nothing left to chance.
Your purpose is never threatened.
You suffer no surprises and
no setbacks.
You are not bound
by the present or the past,
by norms or impossibilities.

Within me is
pain,
sorrow,
weakness, and
uncertainty.
But You have hidden me in Yourself.
I am completely,
eternally,
untouchably safe in You.

The Eternal I AM,
the Source of All,
is my shepherd.
I lack nothing.

Hymn: Be Still, My Child

Be Still, My Child

This hymn has a special ministry to
hurting, anxious people.
It is a lullaby for adults,
with a melody adapted from a favorite classical piece,
“Traumerei,” by Robert Schumann.

Be still, my child, be still.
You are mine. I am yours. I am with you.
Be still, my child, be still.
Why your grasping, your wanting, your worry?

No fear and no pride.
All you need I provide.
Be content, and

Be still, my child, be still.
Simply rest. You are loved. I am watching.
Be still, my child, be still.
I am here. You can sleep. I will hold you.

No fear by my side.
All you need I provide.
Be content, and

Be still, my child, be still.
You are mine. I am yours. I am with you.
Be still.
Be still.
Be still.

I Am Yours

A prayer response to Revelation 7:1-8,
the sealing of the 144,000

In sickness and
in struggle, Father,
I am Yours.
Through ordinary days and
when all the world is crumbling around me,
I am Yours.
In pain and
in grief,
when completely enveloped in darkness,
I am Yours.
When I am weak,
helpless,
sorrowful,
confused,
inconsistent,
ignorant, and
deeply, incurably needy,
I am Yours.

You have sealed me as Your very own.
No enemy can threaten me.
No authority can accuse me.
No judge can condemn me.
No power can separate me from the embrace of Your eternal love.

Father, now and forever,
I am Yours.

Can a woman forget her nursing child
And have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.
(Isaiah 49:15-16, NASB)
