As I See Jesus

Father, as I see Jesus,
I see You.
In Him I see Your beauty and glory,
Your holiness and love.
I see all You are
made fully human.

In Him I also see
who I am becoming.
I see all You have destined me to be.
When I am complete in Him, I will be
Your glorious child,
living in You and
loving You,
joyfully and forever.
I will glow with
Your holiness and
Your goodness.

Father, You are fully
showing Yourself and
sharing Yourself with me in Jesus Christ.
Praise to You!

Jesus: Your Ultimate Choice

from the book, ONE WITH OUR FATHER

John 14:6

Jesus is the way to the Father,
the truth about the Father,
the life of the Father.

He is your creator,
your designer,
your source,
your Savior,
your highest destiny, and
your ultimate goal.
He is all your loving, all-wise Father wants you to be, and
all that your best self longs for you to be.

If you ignore His claims on you,
you consign yourself to
frustration and
meaninglessness.
The future you are choosing is
eternal separation from all that is good.

If you respond to Him in
even the simplest of childlike trust, He will
patiently,
daily,
unfailingly
grow you to Himself and
grow you to your Father.

The Christ of Ordinary Time

from A Christ-centered Year

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
(2 Peter 3:18, NASB)

During Ordinary Time, Jesus helps us order our lives by His teaching and example.
He gives us His Spirit as a down-payment
while we eagerly await His promised Advent.

Ordinary time is like the days Jesus spent with His disciples.
Together they walked long, dusty roads.
They talked,
taught,
healed, and
suffered together.
Our ordinary time is much the same.
It is time spent being discipled by Christ, our personal companion.

We learn by watching Him, by drinking in His example.
We learn from His Words, by hearing Him teach.
We learn by doing, by serving as He served and
obeying the Father as He obeyed.

We find that as Jesus proclaims His Kingdom within us,
He is like the teacher He described in Matthew 13:52:

Every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old. (NASB)

Jesus sheds new light on timeless treasures from
the law, the psalms, and the prophets.
He also gives us new wine in new wineskins.

During Ordinary Time, Jesus helps us order our lives by His teaching and example.
He gives us His Spirit as a down-payment
while we eagerly await His promised Advent.
