Father, Glorify Yourself

John 11:41-42

Why were Jesus’ prayers so powerful?
Because He trusted His Father completely.
He always wanted only
to please His Father and
to glorify Him.
He only wanted what His Father wanted.

That is the key to prayer for us as well.
The focus of prayer should not be changing His will to ours
but reshaping our will to His.

The next time some problem stirs up your anxieties, pray this way:
Father, glorify Yourself through this need.
Bring your concern to Him, simply and honestly,
but make His glory the focus of your prayer.
When God is glorified—
that is, when people see how loving and wonderful He is—
the greatest good is always the result.

Just found your blog! Love it so far :)I have been on a fitness kick for the past 6 motnhs after the birth of my second baby. I couldn’t agree with you more! I work out 4-5 days a week in my basement with DVD’s bright and early. It took me a while to get into it but now I LOVE them! Intense workouts at home. Leaves me so much more time for my family (epecially if I am doing it at 5 am 😉 ) I would love to go to they gym and I miss the group workouts but it is just not practical for me to go regularily with two little ones. Congrats on reaching your goals and maintaining a healthy lifestyle! Thank you for putting a Christian spin on all this… I am getting a lot of flack for exercising so much. People can be very judgemental and are saying things about it… like my marriage must be in trouble, I have low self esteem, I am obssessed… ect…. it hurts but I know the truth! I just want a strong helathy body the way God intended. Exercise and clean eating make me feel awesome!! What is more glorifying?! 😀
